History

Building on the established success of Tropic Air, a leading Kenyan air charter company founded in the early 1990s, Tropic Helicopters emerged in 2006. Tropic Air's early operations coincided with the rise of low-impact, high-value tourism lodges and camps in Northern Kenya. Recognizing a growing demand for exclusive travel experiences, Tropic Air thrived, becoming Kenya's second-busiest air charter company operating a fleet of reliable Cessna aircraft.

Leveraging its expertise and commitment to innovation, Tropic Air diversified into helicopter services in 2006. This pivotal move led to the creation of Tropic Helicopters, which pioneered helicopter safaris across sub-Saharan Africa. With a focus on destinations like Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Congo, Tropic Helicopters quickly established a reputation for excellence. Today, it stands as one of East Africa's most respected air charter and helicopter companies, further solidifying its position with a newly launched branch in Tanzania.
